A Carnival cruise passenger shot video of dozens of birds in a cruise cabin, as hundreds of birds were seen all around the ship on last week's sailing.

According to news reports, both Carnival Freedom and Carnival Glory were sailing in the Bahamas at the time. Passengers reported seeing birds flying around their staterooms, roosting in balconies, and even entering through open doors.

One guest shared a video on social media showing dozens of birds swarming her cabin, captioning it, "That's their room now."

While the exact cause remains unclear, the most likely explanation is that the birds were seeking shelter from Hurricane Milton, which was approaching Florida at the time.

Birds are known to be highly sensitive to weather changes and can adjust their flight paths accordingly.

"I was on that cruise. The Carnival Freedom. On Sunday night, small palm-sized birds were flying all around the ship," one passenger shared on Instagram. "They were getting stuck in the nets of the sports courts and getting inside the ship through the lido doors."

Another passenger confirmed, "This is completely real, was just on Carnival Freedom the other day and they were all over. And someone opened their balcony door and ended up with over 200 in their room."

While this may seem like a strange and unexpected event, it's not entirely unprecedented.

In June 2024, Carnival issued a reminder to guests to avoid feeding seagulls, as the birds had become increasingly attracted to the ships and were leaving behind messy droppings.

That's their fault. Not supposed to leave balcony door open. It messes up the A/C.
