Pictures of Cruise Ship, Oasis of the Seas, in Dry Dock Revealed by Reddit User

Once the largest cruise ship in the world, Oasis of the Seas, is currently in dry dock as the vessel undergoes upgrades and general maintenance.

The colossal vessel, which can accomodate almost 7,000 passengers, has entered dry dock in Cadiz, Spain, for a comprehensive refurbishment.

A Reddit user, redeemer404, has shared pictures of the ship in dry dock, offering a rare glimpse of the underside of the vessel and its impressive azipods.

These propulsion units, which provide the ship with exceptional maneuverability, are clearly visible in the images.

While the exact details of the upgrades remain under wraps, it's expected that the ship will receive a series of enhancements to ensure it continues to offer state-of-the-art experiences for its passengers.

This might include updates to the ship's interior decor, dining options, entertainment venues, or even the addition of new technology.

Following the refurbishment, the Oasis of the Seas is scheduled to welcome guests back on board on October 24, 2024, for a 14-night repositioning voyage to Florida. The trans-Atlantic crossing sails from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale and features visits to destinations in Spain and the Bahamas.

During the 2024-25 winter cruise season, the Oasis of the Seas will offer a series of three- to eight-night cruises departing from Port Everglades.

The itineraries feature visits to Royal Caribbean's private island destination in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, as well as other ports of call in the Southern, Eastern, and Western Caribbean.

The Oasis of the Seas, the first ship in Royal Caribbean's Oasis class, entered service in October 2009. In 2019, it underwent a major refurbishment as part of the Royal Amplification refit program, which included the creation of new features like the Ultimate Abyss dry slide, The Perfect Storm waterslides, and a karaoke venue, Spotlight.

The ship also saw updates to its pool deck, the addition of new staterooms, and other public spaces.
