Cruise lines like to reward loyal members with all kinds of perks. It can include speciaty dining, priority reservations, and discounts on ship services.

But after a new rollout of a loyalty perk from Carnival Cruise Line, some are questioning if the reward is lacking.

The new gift Carnival has introduced for its most loyal guests is a blue baseball cap.

According to news reports, the cap, with the the iconic Carnival whale tail and the "Carnival VIFP Club" logo, is being distributed to Platinum and Diamond level members of the cruise line's Very Important Fun Person (VIFP) program.

"We're excited to offer this new collectible to our valued guests who have sailed with us so many times," said Brand Ambassador John Heald. "The cap is a symbol of their dedication and loyalty to Carnival."

The new cap joins a collection of other VIFP gifts, including a vanity bag, belt bag, and small tote bag.

While the reaction to the cap has been mixed, with some guests expressing disappointment over the lack of alternative options, others have appreciated the thoughtful gesture.

"I wouldn't want this item for myself because I don't wear hats, but I would gladly give it to someone else to wear," said one guest.
"I don't wear caps but will gladly pass it on to a brother that collects caps," added another.

However, some guests have voiced frustration over the new gift, leading Heald to address the criticism on social media.

"If you don't like the gift, perhaps I may kindly suggest you collecting it and then passing it on to someone else," he said. "It is a gift to show our appreciation for your loyalty."

While some guests have expressed mixed feelings about the new cap, Carnival Cruise Line continues to offer a variety of perks and benefits to its loyal VIFP members.

These rewards, which include priority boarding, exclusive events, and discounts on future cruises, are a testament to the company's commitment to recognizing and appreciating its guests' dedication.

To qualify for the Platinum level, guests must have earned at least 75 points, while Diamond level requires 200 points. Each night sailed with Carnival earns one point.

Eligible guests can pick up their loyalty gifts at the onboard Pixels photo gallery during their cruise.
