Texas Border: Migrant Children & Large Groups Still Crossing
9 hours ago
Unaccompanied migrant children, large groups of migrants, and migrants who possibly pose "national security risks" to the United States are continuing to cross the border from Mexico into South Texas. "Ground Zero" for these disturbing trends is Maverick County / Eagle Pass, Texas.
Among the group were 57 unaccompanied children, ages 8 - 17. The children had pieces of paper with addresses to various states. Reports of unaccompanied migrant minors crossing the border have been occurring for some time there. I have written more about that which you can read HERE.
Also within that group- the DPS says - were three "Special Interest Immigrants" from the Republic of Mali (West Africa). "Special Interest Immigrants "- according to the Department of Homeland Security - "potentially pose a national security risk to the United States or its interests."
Finally, in Laredo, Border Patrol Agents discovered 16 migrants inside the locked trailer of a semi-truck abandoned by the human smuggling ring they paid to be illegally transported from Mexico into Texas on October 15, 2024. The Border Patrol says a citizen concerned about "suspicious activity" alerted them to the presence of the trailer on a Laredo street, resulting in the rescue of those migrants who were all from Mexico.
Is enough being done to secure our border with Mexico?
