September means it’s time to don your lederhosen or dirndl and head to Ohio’s Oktoberfest celebrations. They’re full of delicious food, lively music, and plenty of fun for the entire family. The 2024 festivals include:

    Columbus Oktoberfest (September 6th-8th)

Held at the Ohio Expo Center, the Columbus Oktoberfest celebrates German heritage and culture with food, fun, and ice-cold brews. When not shopping in the Art & Craft Marktplatz, you can watch the stone-throwing competition, listen to the Chardon Polka Band, or compete in the keg toss.

Refuel with bratwurst, sauerkraut balls, and funnel cake.

    Oktoberfest Zinzinnati (September 19th-22nd)

Returning to downtown Cincinnati, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati highlights the rich German heritage of southwest Ohio. As the country’s largest Oktoberfest, it draws visitors from near and far, and there’s never a dull moment from the time the gates open until they close.

The fun includes a stein hoisting competition, glassblowing workshops, and everyone’s favorite, the Running of the Wieners.

    Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest (September 20th-22nd)

There’s always something to discover at the Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest. It has been a community fixture since 1979, and welcomes visitors who come to enjoy craft beer, live music, and the popular popcorn-eating contest.

Best of all, admission and parking are free.

    DAI Oktoberfest (September 27th-29th)

Founded in 1971, the DAI Oktoberfest is the longest-running Oktoberfest celebration in southwest Ohio. It’s one of Dayton’s favorite fall festivals, and proceeds help support the Dayton Art Institute.

The event includes delicious eats, live music, and new for 2024, a steinholding competition.

    Boardman Rotary Oktoberfest (September 29th)

An annual tradition since 1976, the Boardman Rotary Oktoberfest is one of the area’s largest one-day arts and crafts events. Vendors come from five states, and visitors often come by the bus load.

Enjoy live music, shop for handmade goods, feast on German fare, and more. The fun starts at 9:00 a.m.
