When you’re in the mood for comfort food, there’s nothing better than a chicken sandwich piled high with your favorite toppings. If that sounds good, head to one of these Ohio restaurants for a delicious dinner:

Rivals (6710 Smith Road, Middleburg Heights)

Serving Cleveland since 2007, Rivals is a popular neighborhood spot where strangers become friends. Sports fans gather on game day, and there’s never a bad seat to cheer on your favorite teams. The cooks craft fresh, flavorful offerings. They bring each dish to life with locally sourced ingredients, and the ice-cold beers on tap complement every dish.

Sample the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. You’ll enjoy a buttermilk fried chicken breast topped with pickles, hot sauce, sriracha aioli, and pepper jack cheese on a brioche bun.

    Byrne’s Pub (1248 West 3rd Avenue, Columbus)

When three brothers decided to open an Irish pub, Byrne’s was born. There’s never a dull moment with dart leagues during the week and live music on the weekends.

On the menu, you’ll find a spicy chicken sandwich. It’s covered with pickles, remoulade, and shredded lettuce and is best enjoyed with loaded tots or beer-battered onion rings.

Nicholson’s Pub (625 Walnut Street, Cincinnati)

When Nicholson’s opened, it became the first gastropub in Cincinnati. It offers an authentic Scottish pub experience and the region’s largest selection of single malt whiskies.

Try the Bonnie chicken sandwich. A customer favorite, it features a fried chicken breast, coleslaw, pickles, white cheddar cheese, and honey chipotle aioli on a brioche bun.

The Basement Sports Bar & Grill (255 East Waterloo Road, Akron)

At The Basement, the kitchen is always open, and the game is always on. Dozens of televisions dot the walls, so you’ll never miss a minute of sporting action.

For dinner, enjoy the chicken Philly. It offers sliced chicken, melted cheese, onions, mushrooms, and hot pepper relish on a toasted hoagie roll.
