Photo/Brian Smith Jacksboro hosted its annual invitational track meet Wednesday, March 6 at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers varsity finished the meet in 5th overall, with 73 points. Cannon Valenzuela broke the school record in the triple jump with a 44’5 3/4” effort. He was also 2nd in the high jump after a 5’8” effort. Jaxson Hubble was 1st in the seated shot put with a 25’2” throw. Eric Pizana was 2nd in both the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 40.68 and the 110-meter hurdles in 16.17. Luke Sams was 3rd in the 200-meter dash in 23.99, with Marcus Olivarez also 3rd in the shot put with a 40’ 8 3/4”. Fifth place finishes were recorded by Wyatt Gavit in the discus with a 110’ 11 1/2” throw, with Jackson McComis 6th after a 110’6” throw. The 400-meter relay team of Juan Marin, Sams, Valenzuela and Ace Walker were 5th with a time of 45.23. Marin, Pizana, Valenzuela and Brayden Rockey were 5th in the 1,600-meter relay in 3:37.64. The Tigers JV finished the meet in 3rd place, with 99.5 points. Will Treadway won the discus with a 117’2” throw. Tayde Reeves was 2nd in both the 110-meter hurdles in 18.77 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles in 47.77 seconds. The 800-meter relay foursome of Ricardo Andrade, Wyatt Gavit, Garrison Johnson and Josh Salazar were 2nd in 1:40.31. Andrade, Johnson, Salazar and Lochlan Pardue were 3rd in the 400-meter relay in 47.11. On the field, Alex Garza was 2nd in the long jump after a 17’8 1/2” leap. Johnson was 5th in the event with a 16’7 1/2”. Rodrigo Cruz and Joxan Delgado were 2nd and 3rd in the shot put after throws of 38’1 1/2” and 37’8 1/2”, respectively. Will Treadway was 4th with a 34’9” throw. Chris Mena was 4th in the discus with a 95’6 1/2” throw. In the triple jump, Jerin Luhrsen was 3rd and Johnson 4th with leaps of 36’3 1/2” and 35’4 3/4”, respectively. The varsity Tigerettes took 1st place in the meet, with 139 points, backed by a number of top finishes. Brailyn Tullous won the 110-meter hurdles in 17.29 and the pole vault with a 9’6” effort. Kylie Tullous won the long jump after a 17’4” leap. Brooke Reaves won the shot put with a 37’1 1/2” throw. Landrie Valenzuela won the discus with a 119’11” throw. Holly Lehman won the triple jump with a 34’5” jump, while Hayden Walker won the high jump with a 4’10” leap. Walker was 2nd in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.32, with Brailyn Tullous finishing 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles with a 50.41 time. Landrie Valenzuela was 2nd in the shot put with a 36’ throw as was Kylie Tullous in the pole vault after a 9’ effort. Kylie Tullous was also 3rd in the triple jump with a 33’10 1/2” try. The 1,600-meter relay quartet of Lehman, Brailyn Tullous, Walker and Laken Valenzuela were 3rd in 4:26.03. Laken Valenzuela was 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.24. Finishing 4th was Judit Herrera in both the 1,600-meter run (6:13.90) and 3,200-meter run (13:51.65). Brailyn Tullous was 4th in the long jump with a 16’1” leap. The JV Tigerettes tied Millsap for 2nd place, with 91 points. Allie White won the 200-meter dash in 29.63, while Jacki Ramos won the shot put with a 28’ throw and discus after a 79’9” effort. Rylee Bennett was 2nd in the pole vault with a 6’6” leap, with Lileigh Taylor placing 3rd after a 6’ leap. White was 3rd in the long jump after a 13’8” jump. Allin Aldava was 3rd in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6:53.01, with Bennett placing 3rd in the 800-meters in 3:02.58. Finishing 4th were Bennett in the 1,600-meters in 6:53.76, Allison Santillana in the 3,200-meters with a time of 16:20.75, and Lizzy Gonzales in the discus with a 64’ throw. Greydis Salazar was 6th in the 3,200-meters in 16:50.20, with Allyson Monsivais throwing 61’8” in the discus.
