Contributed/Brian Smith Each week, the Jacksboro Herald-Gazette will recognize one athlete from each Jack County school as the Herald’s Athletes of the Week. Athletes will be chosen with input from the respective districts’ coaches based on factors that go beyond achievement on the field, court or track. Aside from statistics, athletes who coaches deem to have stepped up in other ways including leadership or general team spirit will be considered as well. Due to Bryson not competing in any sports last week, no athlete was chosen. The Herald’s Athletes of the Week are Lando Belcher, of Jacksboro, and Scarlett Whitworth, of Perrin.
