Tigerettes win over IP Brian Smith Tue, 04/02/2024 - 2:15 pm The Jacksboro Tigerettes opened the second round of district play Thursday, March 28 with a convincing 14-3 win over host Iowa Park. The team is now 7-0 in district and 22-3 overall. A quick start was paramount to the win as Purple scored three runs in each of the first two innings. Emma Gray opened a four-hit first with a single which Kylie Tullous equaled. With one gone, pitcher Shelby Seaberry aided with an RBI single. A two-out Brailyn Tullous single added another run while an error, which brought Maddy Morgan aboard, plated Seaberry courtesy runner Holly Lehman. Seaberry got out of a first inning jam by retiring the last three hitters of the inning, stranding runners at second and third. Rylee Bennett led off the second with a double to left center and scored on a wild pitch for a 4-0 lead. Kylie Tullous used her speed to reach second following a walk. A walk to Rylee Mathis became a run as Seaberry stroked a two-RBI single to extend the lead to 6-0. The Lady Hawks scored a single run in the second. Kylie Tullous opened a threerun fourth with a single, stole second and scored on a one-out groundout by Seaberry. Morgan then stroked a 3-2 pitch into the right centerfield gap for a two-run triple and a 9-1 lead. A four-run Tigerettes seventh commenced as Lily Perez and Bennett both walked. Perez was forced out in place of Gray. With two gone, Mathis and Bella Nail each stroked two-run singles.
