Photo/Brian Smith With a district championship on the line, Jacksboro’s varsity baseball team gave Holliday all it wanted Friday, April 26 but the Eagles broke a 2-all tie in the bottom of the seventh, capitalizing on miscues in a 3-2 victory over Jacksboro. To force a co-district championship, Jacksboro would have had to win Friday. The squads were then scheduled to play a playoff seeding game Saturday. The Tigers ended the regular season in a second-place tie with Iowa Park. Jacksboro will enter the playoffs as the third seed and face Breckenridge in the bi-district round beginning with game 1 at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 in Graham. The best-of-three series continues at 5 p.m. Friday, May 3 with games two and three, if necessary. Holliday picked up two first inning runs off Tiger pitcher Jackson McComis. McComis then settled down and would not allow another run until the seventh. A throwing error allowed the winning run aboard with a sacrifice and another error moving the runner to third. A passed ball brought the winning run home. Jacksboro got on the board with a second- inning run. Wyatt Gavit led off with a single followed by a bunt single from Kasey Swan. Cannon Valenzuela moved the pair up with a sacrifice fly. Swan was forced at third base, allowing Gavit to score.
