Each week, the Jacksboro Herald-Gazette will recognize one athlete from each Jack County school as the Herald’s Athletes of the Week. The Herald’s Athletes of the Week are Jaxson Hubble, of Jacksboro, Ty McComack, of Bryson, and Aidan Gill, of Perrin. Jaxson Hubble, JHS Jaxon Hubble set the Region I-3A meet record in the seated shot put to qualify for the state track meet Friday in Austin. This is the second straight year Hubble has qualified in the event. He said he has learned a lot from his first time at state. Ty McComack, BHS The freshman infielder had a stellar performance in the season finale for the Cowboys last Thursday in Bluff Dale. He went 2-4 with a pair of singles, three RBIs and a pair of runs scored as Bryson closed the season with a 15-3 victory. Aidan Gill, PWHS Coach Scott McPherson’s ace has had a stellar season for the Pirates, who will move on the Class A playoffs. The junior has gone 5-2 with a 2.32 ERA … all the while pitching with a separated shoulder labrum.
