    JHS Exes award record number of scholarships Brian Smith Tue, 05/28/2024 - 2:32 pm The largest class in Jacksboro High School history, with 81 seniors, graduated Friday, May 24. The Jacksboro High School Ex-Students’ Scholarship Committee awarded a record $140,000 to 14 seniors. The committee has awarded $1,758,000 since 1990. Scholarship recipients were Kolbie Berkowitz and Rylee Mathis, Texas A&M University; Jett Davenport and Joshua Ramey, Texas Tech University; Kylie Tullous, Abilene Christian University; Avery McNallen, Tarleton State University; Joshua Ward, Angelo State University; Jackson McComis, Austin College; Charlie Phariss, Kansas Christian College; Lando Belcher, Cisco College; Pacus Wilbur, Idaho School of Horseshoeing; Judit Herrera, Tori Sander and Esmeralda Ruvalcaba, Weatherford College. The Fighting Heart Award, selected by the JHS coaches, is sponsored in memory of all-state JHS running back Monte Gardner, was awarded to Lando Belcher and Rylee Mathis. The JHS Ex-Students Scholarship Committee is comprised of Chairman Jerry Craft, Martha Salmon, Lisa Perry, Debbie Raves, Kori Lewis, Tina Mower, Kim Hart and Mason Spiller.
