JACKSBORO ( KFDX/KJTL ) — At 12:43 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, the Jacksboro Police Department swiftly responded to a reported aggravated assault at the 1400 block of N Main Street.

When officers arrived, they met with a female victim and discovered the incident at the Mesquite Trail Apartments in the 100 block of 5th Street in Jacksboro.

The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Brandon Hall, the live-in boyfriend of the victim.

According to JPD Chief of Police Bryan Corb, Hall physically assaulted the victim with his fists and a knife.

The victim was then transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Jacksboro Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Hall, located at the apartment where the incident occurred.

Corb said at the time of the arrest, Hall barricaded himself inside the apartment, threatening to kill himself.

Officers blocked off the surrounding streets, and that is when a negotiator with the Texas DPS began talking to Hall via cell phone, trying to get him to exit the residence.

During the negotiation process, Hall clearly indicated that he was saying his “goodbyes” and abruptly hung up the phone. Consequently, authorities made the decision to enter the residence without delay. Officers immediately deployed a taser when Hall confronted them with a knife, resulting in his swift arrest.

EMS treated Hall at the scene and transported him to the Jack County Jail.
