In late May, the Board of Directors of the Jackson County Sports Hall of Fame announced the two scholarship recipients of the graduating class of 2024. The female recipient was Avery Wynne of North Jackson High School. Wynne is the first female athlete from NJHS to compete in Division I sports. She is the daughter of Caleb and Carey Wynne, and she will play softball at Middle Tennessee State University.

Every student attending school in the Jackson County and Scottsboro City School systems will be able to have free breakfast and lunch during the 2024-2025 school year.
