Commerce set to approve homestead ballot language
Commerce voters will have a chance to increase the town’s school tax homestead exemption for older citizens in November. The Commerce City Council is poised to approve ballot language this month for the issue following last winter’s passage of local legislation that would increase school property tax homestead exemptions for older citizens across Jackson County. The vote is technical since the legislation itself outlined the specific language and called for the city's election superintendent to put the language on the November ballot.
