JACKSON COUNTY —A long-time cafe in northeast Kansas was destroyed in a fire on Friday. Just after 4:30 a.m. Friday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls reporting a fire at the Whiting Café, 308 Whiting Avenue in the small rural Kansas community of Whiting, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
