2 Republicans vying for Rives Township supervisor seat in the August primary
JACKSON COUNTY, MI - A 16-year incumbent supervisor of a Jackson County township will have his position challenged by another Republican in the Aug. 6 primary election. Republican Jerry Adams is seeking re-election, having served as supervisor since 2008, after a 12-sear tint on the board as a trustee. His opponent is Republican Mary Hall, a longtime executive in the salon industry and co-founder of the Rives Parks and Recreation Committee.

Jackson County District Judge Michael Klaeren signed an order Thursday, July 11, referring Richard Clark Brewer to the state-run Center for Forensic Psychiatry for a mental competency evaluation to determine if he is fit to stand trial, court records show.

CALHOUN COUNTY, MI – Several closures are coming to I-94 just outside Jackson County. The Michigan Department of Transportation is closing single lanes on I-94 between I-69 and Partello Road near Marshall. Voters to decide on tax to replace Jackson County’s aging downtown jail
JACKSON COUNTY, MI – A public safety millage to remodel and upgrade the Jackson County jail on Chanter Road is back on the ballot Aug. 6. The millage, revised and reduced since voters rejected it in 2022, calls for 0.9 mills collected from all property taxes in Jackson County for a term of 20 years to provide funding for public safety services and remodeling and upgrading the jail in Blackman Township.
