Southside Project lawsuit to be dismissed after Forest Service drops logging project
A logging project in Macon and Jackson Counties has been dropped after conservation groups filed a lawsuit earlier this year. The Southside Project, which sits near Cashiers, has been a point of discussion since at least 2015. The final decision on the project was released in 2019 and the logging rights for part of the property were sold in 2022.
