New fire sparks near Beaver Sulphur Campground south of Ruch
JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is reporting a new fire burning on the ridge just south of Beaver Sulpher Campground. The Sulpher Fire, which is burning on the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District, was first noticed Monday night by firefighters working the Upper Applegate Fire. Air tankers were then diverted to drop water on the new incident.

NOWIA Unete giving away free air conditioners to seniors
MEDFORD, Ore. – Record-breaking heat is scorching the region, with vulnerable seniors and individuals with disabilities bearing the brunt of its impact. For a third year Natives of One Wind Indigenous Alliance (NOWIA) Unete, in partnership with the Oregon Office of Emergency Management, are distributing free portable air conditioners to eligible seniors, to help them cope with the extreme heat.
