Part of I-77 getting a makeover
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - If your normal route is from downtown Charleston to Jackson County you have probably noticed it is a bit of a bumpy ride, but that is about to change. A project to rebuild Interstate 77 from Tuppers Creek Road to the Jackson County line was awarded by the West Virginia Division of Highways.

Sarvis Fork Covered Bridge
The Sarvis Fork Covered Bridge near Sandyville, West Virginia, in Jackson County, spans the left fork of Sandy Creek and is a 101-foot-long "long truss." The bridge is one of two remaining covered bridges in Jackson County; the other is the Staats Mill Covered Bridge. The bridge was raised by C.R. Kent, R.R. Hardesty and E.R. Duke, in 1889. It was dismantled and moved to its present site in 1924, where it carries Jackson County Route 21/15 over Sarvis Fork.
