LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — With some parts of the 6 News viewing area doused with over 5 inches of rain, our digital team hit the road at 6:30 a.m. to take in the extent of the tail end of the remains of Beryl.

Out in Aurelius Township, 6 News found the Township Hall parking lot underwater. The team also found county drains overflowing through a residential yard.

Near Leslie, Baseline Rd. was blocked by a large tree. While on the scene, the remainder of the tree fell. The Road Commission arrived shortly after with a front-end loader to remove the tree.

Down in Jackson, the Jackson along High Street, multiple businesses had visible flooding on the property. Some of those businesses also had their loading dock ramps entirely flooded.

In downtown Jackson, the Grand River near the farmer’s market had clearly overflowed the banks. When 6 News was on the scene Wednesday afternoon, the water level was less than an inch below the Glick Highway bridge.

Jackson remains under a flood warning.
