LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) —Mid-Michigan is stuck in an active pattern that will bring chances for showers and storms and heat and humidity back into the area. We saw the first round of showers and storms push through this morning bringing rain to places south of Jackson.
We will continue to see hit-or-miss showers throughout the morning hours and have a greater chance to see showers and storms move through this afternoon into this evening. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has us at a 1 out of 5 for severe weather today with just heavy rainfall and strong winds being the concern with any thunderstorms today.

Temperatures are already into the 70s this morning and will continue to rise well into the mid-80s with dew points into the 70s it will feel like the low 90s outside today. Thankfully we see more clouds than the sun, which not only keeps us a little cooler but it keeps stronger storms from forming.
While we see that isolated chance for storms throughout the day temperatures will be slow to cool tonight in fact we only get into the upper 60s to low 70s for our overnight lows with that humidity still sticking around. A good night for an ice cream, swim in the pool or just chilling in an air-conditioned place!

We continue to see heat and humidity build into the start of the work week. Monday temperatures will be the warmest of the week with our highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. On top of that, our dew points again will be in the upper 60s to low 70s making our feels like temperatures well into the mid to upper 90s! While we aren’t seeing any heat advisories from the National Weather Service it still is going to be a hot and humid day so stay cool and hydrated!

As we head into Monday afternoon and evening we have another chance for stronger storms to form, the SPC has us on a level 2 out of 5 or slight level for severe storms with again gusty winds and heavy rain being the main threats however there is the additional threat for any weather! We will continue to monitor the threat of these storms and provide updates when we know more!
Tuesday is our last day with high heat and humidity, temperatures will still be in the mid to upper 80s with dew points decreasing but still starting in the upper 60s to low 70s. Skies remain partly to mostly cloudy with the chance for some scattered to isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Our weather pattern shifts drastically by midweek as we see temperatures into the mid to upper 70s with comfortable dew points into the low 50s with plenty of sunshine and cooler overnight temperatures in the forecast.
