    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (June 28-30) around Mississippi.

    Central Mississippi:

    Fun Friday – Jackson – Friday

    • Explore the world of dinosaur defense methods with fun games and activities!

    Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

    • There will be live music, drinks and ice cream!

    Celebrate America Balloon Glow – Ridgeland – Friday

    • Kick off Fourth of July weekend on the green space at Northpark mall and enjoy food vendors, fireworks, a kid’s corner, live music, and colorful hot air balloons lining the sunset sky.

    Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

    • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

    Dinosaurs Around the World – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, cutting-edge research, in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature, you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles brought back to life.

    PAW Patrol Adventure Play Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • Save the day through hands-on play at the Mississippi Children’s Museum’s summer exhibit in Jackson, PAW Patrol: Adventure Play!

    Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

    What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

    Intersecting the Golden Age of Jazz and the Influence of Black Muslims – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The special exhibit explores the intersection of jazz music and the influence of Black Muslims.

    Mississippi Braves – Pearl – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The M-Braves will face Montgomery at Trustmark Park.

    SpongeBob the Musical – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • Dive into the underwater world of SpongeBob at the Natchez Little Theatre!

    Summer Bash – Jackson – Saturday

    • Check out the shops and have some fun with chalk, beach balls, and yard games in the Courtyard of Highland Village.

    Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

    • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

    Independence Celebration – The Reservoir – Saturday

    • There will be a dual fireworks show and music at Old Trace Park in Ridgeland and Bobby Cleveland Park at Lakeshore on the Rankin County side! Each park will have kid zones, food trucks, and beverages.

    Dash ‘N Splash Race for Brain and Spinal Cord Injury – Ridgeland – Saturday

    • The Dash ‘N Splash Race for Brain and Spinal Cord Injury is an annual 5k/1-mile race. Racers can run, walk, and roll.

    Bert Kreischer’s Fully Loaded Comedy Festival – Brandon – Saturday

    • Comedian Bert Kreischer, along with Dave Attell, Whitney Cummings, Ralph Barbosa, and Big Jay Oakerson, will perform at the Brandon Amphitheater.

    Living History – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • Vehicles from WWII to Desert Storm will be set up on display on the north side of the Old Courthouse.

    Vicksburg Farmers’ Market – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • The event will be held at the Farmers’ Market Lot on the corner of Jackson and Washington Street.

    Celebrate the Blooms Bash – Natchez – Saturday

    • There will be a plant sale at the Downtown Natchez Farmers Market. Later in the day, there will be an award ceremony at Smoot’s Grocery.

    Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

    • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

    Lupus Awareness Walk – Vicksburg – Sunday

    • The event will begin at Washington Street and Veto Street to Washington Street and Jackson Street.

    Four Seasons of the Arts Patriotic Concert – Vicksburg – Sunday

    • The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation will host a free patriotic concert featuring The Vicksburg Orchestral Society and The Vicksburg Chamber Choir, with special guest conductor, Jace McMullin, EdD, Warren Central High School Head Band Director.

    Pine Belt:

    Habari Nights – Hattiesburg – Friday

    • Guest at Habari Nights will enjoy all the entertainment that Serengeti Springs has to offer including the slides on the Tree Top Trek and the relaxation of the Pole´ Pole´ River. This is a 21+ adult event.

    Friyay Karaoke Night – Laurel – Friday

    • The event will be held at 320 5th St. in Laurel.

    New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

    Rescuepalooza – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • There will be vendors, presentations and animals galore at The Switchyard.

    Movie in the Park: Top Gun: Maverik – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • The movie starts at sunset, so don’t forget to bring your blanket and/or chair for a comfy viewing. Also, feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages.

    Forrest County Farmers Market – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • You’ll be able to find fresh fruit and vegetables, jellies, baked goods, casseroles,
      soaps, flowers and more!

    Thomly’s Farmers Market – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • The market aims to connect shoppers with the best, local, farm fresh products.

    11th Annual Mission At The Cross Restoration Run 2024 – Laurel – Saturday
