    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (July 5-7) around Mississippi.

    Central Mississippi

    Food Truck Friday – Jackson – Friday

    • This will be a multi-vendor event that will allow the food truck community to come together and provide good food.

    Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

    • There will be live music, drinks and ice cream!

    Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

    • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

    Texas Camel Corps Program – Vicksburg – Friday

    • Doug Baum and the camels of the Texas Camel Corps will be present at the Vicksburg National Military Park. The camels are representative of Old Douglas, a camel that served with the 43 rd Mississippi Volunteer Infantry during the Siege of Vicksburg in 1863.

    Mississippi Braves – Pearl – Friday and Saturday

    • The M-Braves will face Biloxi at Trustmark Park.

    WhoDunnit Hoe Down! – Natchez – Friday and Saturday

    • This ain’t your ordinary wild west showdown – expect a cast of characters so quirky, even you might end up on the suspect list!

    Dinosaurs Around the World – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, cutting-edge research, in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature, you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles brought back to life.

    PAW Patrol Adventure Play Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • Save the day through hands-on play at the Mississippi Children’s Museum’s summer exhibit in Jackson, PAW Patrol: Adventure Play!

    Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

    What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

    Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

    • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

    Access for All: Free First Saturdays – Jackson – Saturday

    • The first Saturday of every month, the Mississippi Museum of Art offers free access to special exhibitions thanks to the Art Bridges Foundation.

    History Comes Alive at Vicksburg – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • History comes alive with General Grant and General Pemberton theatrically recreating the last 24 hours at Vicksburg through their own words retold through historical documents, diaries and accounts.

    Vicksburg Farmers’ Market – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • The event will be held at the Farmers’ Market Lot on the corner of Jackson and Washington Street.

    Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

    • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

    Pine Belt

    New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

    First Saturday Downtown – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • Downtown businesses will host their own unique events during each First Saturday. There’s always something new to discover during First Saturday from block parties, outdoor markets to gallery openings.

    Forrest County Farmers Market – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • You’ll be able to find fresh fruit and vegetables, jellies, baked goods, casseroles,
      soaps, flowers and more!

    Open Mic Night – Laurel – Saturday

    • Local musicians, poets, etc. come and perform original material, as well as covers, for a laid-back, supportive audience.
