A Jackson Police official confirmed to the Clarion Ledger that authorities are investigating two shootings that left three people dead and four others injured over the weekend.

Public Information Officer Tommie Brown said a Sunday shooting at a Shell gas station in the 2800 block of McDowell Road left two people dead and four others injured.

Brown said Derrick Coleman, 48, and Jasvir Singh, 37, were shot and died at the scene.

Police said Coleman was the husband of Latasha Crump Coleman, a woman who was last seen on July 18, 2023. Singh was the owner of the Shell gas station.

According to Brown, police are searching for suspects who were in a "black Honda Sedan distinguished by tinted windows on all sides" at the time of the shooting. Police believe the rear passenger fired the shots that killed Coleman and Singh.

Police did not release the identities of the four people injured. Police did say the four victims appeared to sustain non-life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, Brown said police began investigating a homicide that occurred at a Texaco gas station in the 4400 block of Medgar Evers Boulevard.
