Jackson police investigate after one found dead in West Jackson neighborhood

The Jackson Police Department issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for a 34-year-old man in connection to a Monday fatal shooting in the 1700 block of Robinson Street .

According to a JPD press release, detectives are searching for Kelvin Clincy, 34. Police said Clincy is armed and dangerous. Clincy faces a murder charge.

Public Information Officer Tommie Brown told the Clarion Ledger on Monday evening officers arrived at the scene and found one person dead. The victim was later identified as Jerquarius Brown.

The age of the victim was not immediately provided.

According to the Clarion Ledger's records, this is the capital city’s 11th homicide of July 2024.
