With the new school year quickly approaching or already in full swing at public schools in the Jackson Metro area, many students can expect new principals.
Read on to find out which schools will welcome new principals starting in the 2024-2025 school year.
Jackson Public School District
Jackson Public School District will welcome three new principals this fall semester, all of whom are receiving promotions from other JPS leadership roles.
Bruce Sloan, who previously served as the assistant principal at Kirksey Middle School, will now step into the principal role at Cardozo Middle School.
Stacey Bailey will transition from her role as assistant principal at Callaway High School to become principal at Lanier Jr. and Sr. High School.
Alonda Nicholson will close out her time as assistant principal at Murrah High School and step into the principal role at the same school.

Madison County School District
Madison County School District is adding two familiar faces to its team of grade school principals this fall.
Devona Dew, the outgoing assistant principal at Germantown Middle School, will now serve as principal at Rosa Scott, Madison County Schools' ninth-grade campus. Dew will take over from Kim Brewer, who will transition into the role of elementary services director at the district office.
Kristal Pollard Epting will take on the principal role at Madison Avenue Elementary. Her new role follows Epting's term as assistant principal at Mannsdale Elementary School and her most recent role as principal at Flowood Elementary in the Rankin County School District.

Rankin County School District
Rankin County School District will also see a familiar face step into the role of principal this fall.
Lexie Gosselin, who has worked in the Rankin County School District for several years and most recently served as assistant principal at Richland Upper Elementary, will now serve as principal at Flowood Elementary.
Other schools in the Jackson Metro
Other school districts in the Jackson Metro area, including Canton Public Schools, will not have any new principals for the upcoming school year, officials with those districts said.
