Camden County Boy Scouts heading home from St. Croix due to global tech outage canceling flight
STRATFORD, N.J. (CBS) â A group of Boy Scouts from Camden County is on the way home Saturday after being stranded in Saint Croix.Troop 122 landed in the Virgin Islands on July 12. The children, who range in age from 11 to 17, spent the last week earning merit badges and practicing lifesaving skills while staying at a 17-acre seafront campground called Camp Howard M. Wall.The scouts' flight to Philadelphia was supposed to leave on Friday but got canceled because of the global tech outage. The scouts were told it could be a week before they could get on another flight.Scoutmaster Stacey White said he's relieved that Spirit Airlines was able to add a flight so the group could leave Saturday night. The troop is scheduled to arrive at Philadelphia International Airport early Sunday morning."Very happy," White said. "It's a lot of responsibility having 30-some kids knowing that they're running out of their medications and some of them, when they're out of medications, have withdrawal symptoms â whatever it is, it was not going to be pretty."White said he got a phone call from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, who wanted to make sure the children were OK.

Burlington County under a flash flood warning until early Monday
On Sunday at 7:59 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning in effect until Monday at midnight for Burlington County. "At 7:59 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," says the weather service. "Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low-lying areas."

Mercer County Parks Hosts âTrenton Talks Basketball Tournamentâ, Drawing Over 250 Residents
Mercer County Park hosted the first Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament, with a portion of all proceeds going to benefit Trentonâs A Better Way foundation. The tournament brought out over 250 residents from Trenton and surrounding communities. 12 basketball teams competed for top honors. There was also a double-dutch jump rope contest, judged by Skil-Lit CafĂŠ Owners Robert Wilborn and Dionna Maldonado.
