Last week, the Rockabillys hosted a re-enactment of a big game between the Rockford Peaches and the Racine Belles, a tribute to the highly successful movie, "A League of Their Own."

Two teams of women dressed in replica uniforms from the movie played a seven-inning baseball game.

The game was played on the regulation professional field (60' mound/90'bases) with wooden bats, all replicating the famous games played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which played from 1943-1954.

Staying true to the movie, the coach and players re-enacted the famous, "There's no crying in baseball" scene, and the triumphant ending included winning Rockford players being carried off the field on their teammates shoulders.

The teams were comprised of women who had been former softball or baseball players.

The fun and historical throw-back event drew onlookers from all over for the unique game experience.
