BUSHKILL, Pennsylvania - A 24-year-old Jackson man drowned Saturday at a Delaware River beach, according to the National Park Service, which recovered his body later that evening after closing the area for a search.

Jeysson Ariel Osorio-Reyes was last seen around 3:15 p.m. Saturday about 75 yards from the Pennsylvania shoreline in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, officials said.

Witnesses told authorities Osorio-Reyes was last spotted swimming mid-channel in the river before he disappeared under the water surface.

His body was recovered around 7 p.m.

Milford Beach was closed to the public Saturday evening and Sunday to allow search and recovery operations.

Park Service rangers and dive team members were joined in the search by volunteers from the Milford Fire Department, Milford Ambulance, Port Jervis and Bushkill Dive Teams, and Dingman Township, Sparrowbush and Huguenot Dive rescue reams.
