    Deadly head-on crash with motorcycle leads to homicide DUI charges

    JACKSON TWP., COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police are charging a man with homicide while DUI after they say he caused a head-on crash that killed a motorcyclist .

    According to Pennsylvania State Police, on July 3 around 3:00 p.m., troopers were called to State Route 118 and Mountain Road in Jackson Township for a motorcycle and car crash.

    Through further investigation, police say the motorcycle was traveling east on SR 118 when a car being driven by Craig Evans was driving west at high speed and illegally passing cars in the eastbound lane.

    PSP investigating deadly Montour County crash

    While passing cars, police say Evans hit a motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man, head-on.

    Evans was transported to Geisinger Medical Center. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

    PSP stated they have charged Evans with homicide by a motor vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault by a motor vehicle while DUI, DUI, and other traffic violations.

    The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
