    Jacksonville police investigating after man dies after being hit by train Thursday evening

    JACKSONVILLE, Ark. – A man is dead after being hit by a train in Jacksonville Thursday evening, police said Friday.

    A release from the Jacksonville Police Department stated that officers were called to the 400 block of South Spring Street just before 8 p.m. after getting reports that someone had been hit by a train.

    Widespread disruptions were not the result of security incident or cyberattack: CrowdStrike

    When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a man, later identified and Jacksonville resident Jimmy Flennoy, lying on the tracks. Officers said Flennoy was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Detectives and a team with the Criminal Investigation Division arrived at the scene and began processing evidence.

    Officials with the Jacksonville Police Department said the investigation into this deadly crash is ongoing.
