Projects increasing food and gasoline options near the airport and that could spur more corporate development are moving forward after a Jacksonville Aviation Authority board meeting. <\p> With construction moving forward on a Wawa planned near Jacksonville International Airport, Jacksonville Aviation Authority board members and staff looked forward to opportunities the gas station and convenience store could bring customers and workers of businesses around the airport.<\p>
Historic building housing Sun-Ray cinema bought by Georgia company
A Georgia real estate investment firm bought one of the oldest surviving movie theaters in Jacksonville for $7 million.<\p> The Seng Company in Decatur, Georgia, bought the 16,037-square-foot Five Points Theatre building at 1028 Park St. in Riverside through 1028 Park LLC. <\p>
Second local Talkin’ Tacos to open soon in the Town Center
Talkin’ Tacos will soon be serving up even more birria in Jacksonville.<\p> The food-truck-turned Jax Beach brick-and-mortar locale plans to open its second Jacksonville store with a grand opening fiesta on May 31 at its new spot at 4853 Big Island Drive in the St. Johns Town Center.<\p>
WheelHouse building out Ponte Vedra location
WheelHouse storage is building out its new Ponte Vedra Beach location, receiving several building permits from St. Johns County on Monday.<\p> The company offers garage condos and has already developed locations in San Pablo and off Palm Valley Road.<\p>
With $194M agreement, work on airport's Concourse B moves ahead
The Jacksonville Aviation Authority board ratified an award to Balfour Beatty Construction LLC to begin construction on Concourse B, clearing the way for the major project at Jacksonville International Airport to begin.<\p> The vote during the board meeting Monday authorized $194 million for Balfour Beatty to handle the construction work. <\p>

The CEO of Proficient Auto Logistics (NASDAQ: PAL) and the secretary of the company stepped down from their positions as the company goes public, according to an SEC filing. <\p> Proficient transports vehicles from auto manufacturing sites, marine ports and rail hubs to individual auto dealers.<\p>
Are investors re-entering the housing market after two-year retreat?
Investors could be launching a bit of a comeback in the U.S. housing market — although the reversal of fortunes comes amid a strategy shift for many investors in the face of low inventory. <\p> Purchases by investors grew 0.5% on a year-over-year basis in Q1, according to analysis by Redfin Corp. (Nasdaq: RDFN). Redfin defines an investor as any buyer whose name includes LLC, Inc., Trust, Corp. or Homes, or any buyer whose ownership code on a purchasing deed includes association, corporate trustee, company, joint venture or corporate trust.<\p>

Permit issued for BJ's Wholesale Club in St. Johns
The initial building permit for a BJ's Wholesale Club in northern St. Johns County was issued Thursday.<\p> The $400,0000 permit was issued for the foundation of the 104,298-square-foot store at 115 Beachwalk Blvd. The contractor is listed as Facility Contracting Solutions of St. Petersburg.<\p>
Residential community with almost 400 homes proposed in St. Johns
A residential community just south of State Road 16 near St. Augustine is proposed with 376 single-family homes.<\p> The item was before the St. Johns County Planning and Zoning Agency on Thursday, when it received mixed reviews. The project needs a rezoning from Open Rural to Planned Unit Development to commence.<\p>
Expansion of pickleball courts, pavillion under review Queen's Harbour
A planned amenities expansion at the Queens Harbour Yacht and Country Club is under review, with pickleball courts and a pavilion included in the project, according to an application submitted to the St. Johns Water Management District.<\p> The project would add a new pickleball court, multipurpose court and community pavilion building, according to records. The additions would require a modification to the existing drainage system, records show.<\p>

Prospective employees in business and finance, education, and software are having a harder time landing a new job.<\p>
Demolition first step toward new Pinstripes location
The Simons Property Group received a city permit on Thursday for a $361,498 demolition of the building at 10274 Buckhead Drive in the St. Johns Town Center.<\p> Previously the site of retailer West Elm, this demolition is the first step in preparing the site for a future 29,354-square-foot, two-story Pinstripes lifestyle center. Jacksonville-based England-Thims & Miller submitted the civil engineering plans April 26 for Pinstripes at Town Center.<\p>
Another Shipyards development under review
A week after the city approved vertical construction for Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s office building, his development company submitted site plans for the final component of the Shipyards development.<\p> Iguana Investments Florida LLC filed plans for the marina support building, event lawn and Riverwalk on 1.92 acres next to the Four Seasons Hotel & Residences and office building Wednesday.<\p>
Alien Taco build-out receives permit
The City of Jacksonville generated a permit Thursday for a $38,500 build-out at 7643 Gate Parkway. The plan is to construct a 2,600-square-foot Alien Taco restaurant.<\p> When finished, the interior will hold an estimated 96 seats and its patio, 24 seats. <\p>
