Jumpin’ Jax – House of Food , a new American fast-casual restaurant, has closed its location at 20 W. Adams Street in Downtown to relocate elsewhere.

Owner Howland “Howdy” Russell closed the company’s original site on Saturday, March 30, but intends to reopen in a few weeks in another Downtown location in the central city or the Gateway Jax area of the North Core, according to Jacksonville Daily Record . Russell hopes to reopen as soon as possible but hasn’t signed any leases yet. The company hopes to land in a much smaller space, aiming for something 2,700 square feet compared to the original 5,200 square feet.

While fans of the American restaurant will have to wait and see where the new downtown locations end up, the restaurant still has another site in Butler Plaza at 4887 Belfort Road that opened a year ago. The original downtown location opened at the beginning of 2020. Now, Russell and his team will quickly move to a new home, offering a variety of burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken, pizza, salads, wraps, sides, and more.

“Our food is sure to tantalize your taste buds and really make your mouth water!” according to the company’s website. “If you’re looking for something special, and extra flavorful, we have just the meal for you. We’ve been making these dishes for years and every single dish is made with love. With fresh ingredients that haven’t been sitting around in a freezer all day, what more could you ask for? Our commitment to freshness and quality make us stand out from the crowd.”
