A brand new restaurant called Arby’s Seafood and Chicken is preparing to debut next month in Jacksonville at 2009 University Blvd N.

The new restaurant will move into the former home of Creole Cuisine, according to a plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Owner Mauricio Chahine tells What Now Jacksonville that he hopes to open Arby’s Seafood and Chicken in the next 30 to 40 days , offering a variety of seafood and chicken options, as well as some Middle Eastern and Lebanese flavors within the menu.

Before this, Chahine owned the now-closed Albarakah International Grocery Store in Arlington Plaza. The Brazilian/Lebanese grocery store struggled to stay afloat with all the new laws and inflation, which put a stranglehold on their ability to order food and keep our store stocked with merchandise. Before that, Chahine also owned and operated a Middle Eastern restaurant in Michigan.

Now, he plans to return to the restaurant industry with this new restaurant, which will have a small dine-in area with enough seats for about 20 customers. The owner is currently waiting for the city to obtain proper permits to open the restaurant. Arby’s Seafood and Chicken will sit in an area with a handful of eateries, but not many, making this an excellent location for the restaurant’s debut. On top of being around other retailers, the new restaurant will only have to compete with Seven Wonders Restaurant & Bakery, Popeyes, Malula, and Chick-fil-A on University Boulevard.
