Me-Ma’s Food Trailer Upgrading to a Restaurant

Me-Ma’s Food Trailer , a local food truck and catering service focused on soul food, is preparing to open a brick-and-mortar in Jacksonville at 1440 Dunn Avenue, Unit 32.

The new restaurant will replace Katie’s Plates in the Dunn Avenue Plaza , according to a recent announcement made by the company on Instagram. There is no timeline for this new brick-and-mortar, but when it opens, customers can expect a variety of delicious soul food options, such as smoked ribs and turkey legs, fried chicken combos, pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, shrimp combos, and more. There will also be plenty of homemade sides, drinks, and desserts.

While the owner is getting ready to launch the restaurant, she stays busy with the food truck. This week, Me-Ma’s Food Trailer was found at the LUX Apartments from Wednesday to Friday and the Dre Day Block Party on Saturday and Sunday. The food truck will continue to offer weekly meals and specials throughout Jacksonville. Official locations and times for the food truck are regularly posted on the company’s social media.

This will be an excellent location for Me-Ma’s Food Trailer’s first storefront, considering there will be plenty of foot traffic coming from the shopping center, which includes Lovely Nails, RadiFi Credit Union, Family Dentistry, and more. While there are no soul options in the area, the restaurant must compete with Subway and Big Oak BBQ & Catering within the plaza and a handful of other restaurants nearby, including Mr. Snappers Fish Chicken and Shrimp directly behind the building.
