Man found dead in garage in Deerwood home, Jacksonville police say

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead in a garage in a Deerwood neighborhood.

Police responded around 9:30 a.m. to the 10500 block of Gatewood Glen Court, which is off Hampton Landing Drive near Baymeadows Road and Interstate 295.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department also responded to the home and pronounced the man dead, JSO said.

JSO said the family who lives at the home came back from vacation and found who they believe to be their adult son dead in the garage.

Police are asking neighbors if they have surveillance video or if they saw anything.

Investigators do not yet know the circumstances of the incident or the relationships of the people involved, JSO said.
