Jacksonville reportedly let a pair of players go from its injured reserve on Tuesday, waiving undrafted rookie wide receiver Wayne Ruby Jr. and releasing offensive lineman Chandler Brewer, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.

The Jaguars have yet to make either move official.

Ruby was originally waived with an injury designation by Jacksonville in May, after suffering an unspecified injury during the team’s rookie minicamp. He reverted to the Jaguars’ injured reserve shortly thereafter.

A five-year star at Division III Mount Union, memorably where former Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts III played college football, Ruby caught an incredible 362 passes for 5,624 yards and 74 touchdowns from 2019-23. He signed with Jacksonville after the 2024 NFL draft.

Jacksonville placed Brewer on injured reserve, also with an undisclosed hurt, in June after its mandatory minicamp. The club utilized Brewer’s open roster spot to sign wide receiver Kyric McGowan.

Brewer signed with the Jaguars last April and spent most of the 2023 season on Jacksonville’s practice squad. He appeared in one game amid a late-season elevation to the active roster, against Cleveland in Week 14.

After going undrafted out of Middle Tennessee in 2019, Brewer signed with Los Angeles and spent the 2019-22 seasons bouncing between the Rams’ practice squad and active roster, appearing in 13 games. He opted out of the 2020 season amid the COVID-19 pandemic, after battling non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in college.

Once these moves are finalized, undrafted rookie wide receiver David White Jr. will become the only player on Jacksonville’s injured reserve.
