Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence earned a spot on the NFL Top 100 ahead of the 2024 season, the league revealed on Monday, collecting enough votes from his peers to make the list for a second consecutive year.
Lawrence checked in as the league’s No. 94 overall player, jumping two spots from his No. 96 overall ranking last offseason, then considered the NFL’s No. 14 quarterback.
While it is currently unclear where Lawrence will stand among quarterbacks on the list, New York’s Aaron Rodgers (No. 92) and Atlanta’s Kirk Cousins (No. 80) were named ahead of him.
The Jaguars made Lawrence one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in NFL history this offseason, handing him a five-year contract extension worth $275 million in June.
In three seasons since Jacksonville selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, Lawrence has completed 63.8% of his 1,750 passes for 11,770 yards with 58 touchdowns and 39 interceptions, adding 11 scores on the ground.
The Jaguars excused Lawrence’s rookie season, when Jacksonville disastrously experimented with Urban Meyer as head coach, in its determination to offer him a mega-deal.
Since Doug Pederson was hired to replace Meyer, Lawrence has completed 65.9% of his passes for 8,129 yards with 46 touchdowns and 22 interceptions, adding nine rushing touchdowns.
Lawrence debuted on the NFL Top 100 last year after captaining the Jaguars to their first playoff appearance since the 2017-18 season.
After going 3-14 under Meyer and his staff in 2021, Jacksonville went 9-8 and pulled off the third-biggest comeback in NFL postseason history against the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2022-23 AFC wild card round. Kansas City knocked the Jaguars out of the playoffs in the divisional round.
Lawrence and the Jaguars got off to an 8-3 start in 2023 before multiple injuries derailed the quarterback and the team’s season. Jacksonville went 1-5 after Week 12 and was eliminated from postseason contention in Week 18, at 9-8.
In 16 games, missing only one despite suffering a concussion and knee, ankle and shoulder injuries throughout the year, Lawrence completed 65.6% of his passes for 4,016 yards with 21 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also scored four rushing touchdowns.
