If you’re hoping to travel for the holidays and need a passport, St. Johns County has you covered this weekend.

The Office of the County Clerk’s Passport Saturday event is designed for first-time passport applicants, including minors. Applications also will be accepted for people whose previous passport was lost, stolen or issued more than 15 years ago.

The event is designed for busy people who would otherwise be unable to make it to a passport application appointment during the week.

“We recognize the challenges of coordinating schedules for passports during regular business hours,” Clerk Designee John Rundgren said. “Holding this Passport Saturday event is our way of making the process easier and more convenient for local families.”

Anyone looking to apply should bring a valid government ID, a birth certificate and any previously issued passports or naturalization certificates.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center on Lewis Speedway in St. Augustine. It will run until 1:30 p.m.

Attendees can expect to receive their new passports in the mail six to eight weeks after applying.
