    The Jacksonville Symphony’s 75th season gets in gear with acclaimed pianist Joyce Yang (one of several visiting artists who’ll tickle the organization’s state-of-the-art Steinway this season) performing Rachmaninoff’s well known Second Piano Concerto . TESTIFY! A new work by critically-praised composer Brittany J. Green gets its world premiere.     48 Hour Mural Project

    Phoenix Arts & Innovation District | Downtown Jacksonville

    The second annual 48-Hour Mural Project is held this weekend at the increasingly bustling Phoenix Arts & Innovation District. At 6 p.m. on Friday, after being informed of the specific elements they’ll need to incorporate into their mural, selected muralists will have 48 hours to complete their project. The event concludes at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the public is encouraged to come view the works in progress and cheer on the muralists. It’s free to attend. More info .

    World-renowned, Jacksonville-based artist Hiromi Moneyhun leads a workshop on papercutting at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens on Sunday. Moneyhun will share the techniques to create two- and three-dimensional artworks from paper using templates and the proper cutting tools.
