Allen Iverson desires to join the Sixers brass, the former NBA MVP said in a recent interview.

His playing days are over, obviously, and he isn't interested in coaching, but Iverson believes that he is worthy of a formal role with the team.

My role there is nowhere near where I think it's supposed to be," he said about his former team on an episode of "Headliners with Rachel Nichols," which streams on Paramount+ and Showtime.

When asked what role he envisions with the team, Iverson said: "It would be multiple things. Obviously, talk to players about what's going on, and be there for them if they want to talk to me about anything. I want to be there for any type of advice I can give."

Anything that Allen Iverson can do, that's what I want to do," he said.

Iverson, whom the Sixers selected first overall in the 1996 NBA Draft, finished his career as a Hall of Famer.

The dynamic guard won NBA MVP in 2001, made 11 all-star appearances, earned three All-NBA First Team honors three times, and was a four-time scoring champion.

Iverson also led the Sixers to the franchise's only NBA Finals appearance since the turn of the millennium.

His number was retired by the franchise in 2014 and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016.

His iconic crossover revolutionized the game and his larger-than-life persona made him a superstar on and off the court.

Now, Iverson wants to give back to the organization that molded him.

I love Philadelphia so much and I love that organization for everything they did for me," Iverson said. "They made me a household name."

Though coaching is out of the question, the Sixers could bring Iverson in as an advisor or mentor for the players.

The Hall of Famer could work in a similar role to Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki, who serve in advisory roles with the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks, respectively.

Anything I have as a basketball savant, just use me," Iverson said.
