Ravens star Lamar Jackson has been named the NFL's MVP for the second time in his young career.

Jackson, 27, was one vote shy of winning the award unanimously and is now the 11th player in NFL history to win MVP honors multiple times.

Impressively, after being awarded his second MVP award on Thursday at the NFL Honors ceremony in Las Vegas, Jackson is now the first player in history to win a Heisman and multiple NFL MVP awards.

"First of all, I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," Jackson said in his acceptance speech. "Without Him, nothing is possible."
"I want to thank my organization, the Baltimore Ravens, for finally getting a deal done," Jackson continued, drawing laughs from the crowd at NFL Honors.

When reflecting on the significance of being the 11th player in NFL history to win multiple MVP awards, Jackson called it "an honor" and reiterated his goal of adding a Super Bowl title to his already impressive resume.

"It's an honor," Jackson said. "I've been saying it all night, but it really is an honor to be amongst the greatest of all-time. It's incredible."
"I never thought that I would be a two-time MVP. I thought that I'd be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback by now, but I just thank God for everything that he has done for me and my family."

Jackson became the youngest player to win a Heisman trophy -- at just 19 years, 337 days -- after posting 4,928 yards of total offense and 51 total touchdowns with Louisville in 2016.

A few years later, Jackson was voted as the unanimous 2019 NFL MVP -- joining Tom Brady (2010) as the league's only unanimous MVP winners.

Now, after capturing his second NFL MVP award on Thursday, Jackson enters rare air as the lone player to win a Heisman and multiple NFL MVP awards.

Despite the historic achievement, Jackson believes that he still has something to prove.

"The sky is the limit," he said at the NFL Honors. "I feel like I still have something to prove. [I still] have stuff to prove to the naysayers. I need the naysayers to keep going and continue to add fuel to the fire for me to be Lamar Jackson."

This season, Jackson passed for 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns and rushed for 821 yards and five touchdowns.

While those weren't his career highs, they attributed to an impressive campaign for the Ravens in which they secured the No.1 seed in the AFC and reached the AFC Championship game.

Next season, Jackson is hopeful of adding another trophy to his collection -- a Super Bowl title.

"We were right there," Jackson said of the Ravens' season. "We just need to kick it up a notch to be where we want to be. Once we're in [the Super Bowl], I feel like we will bring it home. There's no doubt in my mind, no matter who is in front of us. But we have to get there first."
