Thanking nurses and teachers
Members of the Williamsburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., paid tribute to school nurses in commemoration of National Nurses Week, acknowledging their compassion and care in a school setting. The school selection was done randomly and represented schools in the chapter’s service areas of James City, York and Gloucester counties. Here, chapter members Alisha Talley, at left, and Mary Stewart are shown with Gloucester High School nurse Carol Tassone. Sorority members also expressed their gratitude and honored teachers’ dedication and hard work during Teacher Appreciation Week. Under the theme, “Teachers Plant Seeds That Grow Forever,” teachers at Lafayette High School, Magruder Elementary School, and Gloucester High School were recognized. As a token of the chapter’s appreciation, gifts were given, including Cookie Text, Uncle Dave’s Kettle Korn, and Panera Breakfast.
