This weekend is the annual San Francisco Marathon. It will be held on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28th. Registration for all parts of the race is still open. On the website there is a code that runners can use to get a 25% discount on the Ultra, Fool, or Half Marathon. There is also a code for 30% off on the 5k and 10k runs. The race usually has a lot of late registrations, and there will definitely be runners of all levels in the race. For those that just want to watch, they will also have a live stream from their website to watch the race.

Traffic this weekend in San Francisco will obviously be bad so public transportation and leaving early is suggested.

For the full marathon, the race is 26.2 miles long, and a 6-hour limit is given to all runners. Some have said the race fees are pretty high, but there is a nice package that comes with the price. For the fee for the full marathon, runners will get a race shirt, jacket, beach towel, and tote bag.

Here is a video by the SF Marathon website that gives a timelapse view of the entire course and how to run it. The San Francisco Marathon is one of the most scenic running events in the world. The map can be downloaded, and it shows the amazing course that is very challenging as well. From under the Bay Bridge and the Embarcadero to Acquatic Park, it's a fun and easy-going run. The breathtaking views, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and the beautiful water and hills make the SF Marathon a bucket list type run.

The event organizers do a great job on their website, which has a downloadable schedule for each race and even tells you how to use your running bib. The race every year attracts great runners throughout the world, and it is much anticipated in the running world.
