The city of Fairfield, California, is welcoming people to enjoy the breweries of Fairfield to celebrate International Beer Day this weekend. International beer day is celebrated on the first Saturday of August every year with a celebration of the weekend. Fairfield wants people to come out and taste and appreciate what they have to offer.
The travel and tourist Instagram page had several Fairfield breweries that they recommended for visitors and locals alike to come visit and enjoy.
Heritic Brewery:
When you see the many top sites for breweries in Fairfield, Heretics name always comes up. Located near the highway, it attracts locals and out of towners alike. The food is classic bar fare, with hamburgers and sandwiches as well. This isn't your father's tap room. Their mixed cocktails are unique and fun, and their beers are just as unique. Beers of all different flavors, like butterscotch, sour cherries, and sour ales, are mixed in with the more classic IPAs and other flavors.
Locals may not be happy with this being shared, but this is a fantastic place. Located right next door in Dixon, it is very kid- and pet-friendly; it is actually a large working farm. There is so much to see and enjoy and enough to keep the kids happy. They do not serve food or snacks, but they give a schedule where a food truck does come around. And as long as it isn't alcohol, they allow patrons to bring in their own food.
Their beer is considered excellent by many, with an old-school quality and pride in it. Capt. Frank Ruhstaller bought the City Brewery in 1881 and started producing beer, and they are still going strong today.
A fun place that locals love is the Pioneer Tap Room. They have a good array of beer and a few options for wine drinkers too. The usual foods are barbecue and seafood. You will see all sorts of nick nacks and fun outdoor seating. They always have something going on, be it music, taco Tuesdays, or many other fun things.
