Lauryn Hill & Fugees Refund LA Concerts & End US Tour

As fans in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl got ready for Lauryn Hill and the Fugees 25-year anniversary tour, a shocking thing happened. Not only was there a notice at the Hollywood Bowl Ticketmaster website about the shows in September being cancelled, the group announced that the entire American tour is cancelled. They added that their UK tour would still go on.

On the Hollywood Bowl's Ticketmaster page, it says,
“You don't need to do a thing. We'll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase as soon as funds are received from the event organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days."

Lauryn Hill Blames the Media:

Rumors were being spread that ticket sales were not good, and Lauryn Hill said that this was not the case. The group consisting of Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel has not yet issued a statement collectively.

Lauryn Hill stated that “some media outlets penchant for sensationalism and clickbait headlines have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales for the North American portion of the tour. The trust and faith I have in my intentions and my commitment to my art seem to have been overshadowed by this unfortunate portrayal.”

Lauryn Hill is no stranger to controversy with her concerts and eccentricities. Her lateness to her own performances is of legend, with some saying she could be several hours late sometimes. In an article in 2016 in Us Magazine, she said, “I don’t show up late to shows because I don’t care. And I have nothing but love and respect for my fans. The challenge is aligning my energy with the time, taking something that isn’t easily classified or contained, and trying to make it available for others. I don’t have an on/off switch. I am at my best when I am open, rested, sensitive, and liberated to express myself as truthfully as possible.”

Last year Hill struggled with her voice and had to cancel her tour then as well.
