49ers Renew Efforts to Keep Aiyuk Who Has Limited Options

The 49ers are standing pat, and waiting out their contract issue with Brandon Aiyuk. In the end the possibilities of him not playing for the 49ers keep dropping like a stone. The 49ers final offer for Aiyuk $26 is million per year. He wants to be paid as one of the best WR's in the NFL and the 49ers won't give him any more money.
Reports have said 49ers are renewing their efforts to sign Aiyuk but that they are still open to a trade. Deep down though that may be hard to do.
Aiyuk Turns Down Offer:
The 49ers know that Brandon Aiyuk is their much-needed deep threat on offense, but they are not going to trade him unless they get that exact thing in return. Aiyuk seems to be losing it waiting for a contract that he approves. From the start of the negotiations he has been impatient and frustrated and he doesnt' get that this is a business and the 49ers own all the cards and are in no hurry.
The 49ers were offered wide receiver Amari Cooper and a second rounder by the Cleveland Browns for Aiyuk, but he doesn't want to go to Cleveland. Washington has already said they are no longer interested, and Pittsburgh has nothing but draft picks to offer. What makes trading him even harder is that Brandon pretty much wants to go to Pittsburgh or Washington. New England was also interested and they were on his list, but Aiyuk doesn't seem to want to play there anymore and they have opted out as well.
Even though he doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract, the 49ers have allowed Aiyuk to choose the team he wants to go to. In reality, most teams would not allow this, and they would just trade him. Aiyuk has had one great year and one good year. The 49ers are wondering if it's a wise decision to give him so much long-term guaranteed money due to him showing immaturity at times, constantly going to social media with their issues.
San Francisco had this dilemma with stars Deebo Samuel and Nick Bosa. Both were signed at the last second, after some pretty tense negotiations and trade requests. They both though seemed more mature and even though they were not happy with the situation, they eventually were signed.
Not all the cards they are holding are aces as San Francisco's first-round draft pick Ricky Pearsall has missed half of their practices. He has a shoulder and a hamstring injury and is probably out for the first preseason game.
Aiyuk With Limited Options:
The options for Aiyuk are very limited. The 49ers are not just going to trade him to appease him. If they can't get a deep threat in return, it's hard to see Aiyuk playing anywhere but in San Francisco for at least 2025-26 season.
