As some stated, Brandon Aiyuk was going nowhere. After all of the drama and all of the talk back and forth, the 49ers in reality held all the cards.

Aiyuk signed a 4-year, $120 million contract. A total of $76 million is guaranteed. Even with all of the rumors and Aiyuk being extremely nervous about the situation, the 49ers had Aiyuk signed for this year at a little over $14 million already. The 49ers took their time just like they did with the Deebo Samuel and Nick Bosa situation, where they signed late as well.

The 49ers were never going to trade Aiyuk unless they got a deep threat in return. The 49ers are definitely in a win-now situation, so draft picks and other players were not going to help them.

The 49ers are worried about Aiyuk's maturity level, and some of the things he did didn't help that situation. In the end, though, with the huge signing of Cee Dee Lamb's 4-year, $136 million contract, this one probably had the 49ers relieved. There were worries that with Lamb's huge contract, Aiyuk would want even more money, but in the end he got what he originally wanted.
