The music festivals are far from over in California. The Fourth Annual Mare Island Dock of Bay Music Festival featuring some amazing groups that have been doing it for several years will be held in Solano County.

The festival will be on Saturday, Septemper 7. Doors will open at 12:30 pm and the music will run from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Mare Island has a 10:00 pm curfew. Tickets are on sale at their website.

The concerts will be at the restored coal sheds at Mare Island at 850 Nimitz Ave., in Vallejo, California. They will have two stages. The organizers say that food and drinks can be purchased with credit or debit cards but that some vendors will only take cash and there are no ATM's on site.

The groups that will be a part of the festival include Heatwave, The Commodores, The Average White Band, & Lenny Williams.

Heatwave was known for their classic hits Grooveline, Boogie Nights and Always and Forever. The Commodores dominated the airwaves with hits like Easy, Brick House, and Three Times a Lady. Sail On, and Lady (You Bring Me Up).

Lenny Williams is the former lead singer of Tower of Power. He has had a successful solo career as well. The Average White Band's biggest hit was Pick Up The Pieces. Both artists have had several songs sampled by other artists.
